Join the 2022 European Spine Ride in France

Last year, World Spine Care Europe supporters rode over 400 miles along the coast of England. This year, they will get back in the saddle to ride the French coast, from Nice to Marseille, all to raise funds that help provide evidence-based spine care in Navi Mumbai, India.

Each year, a group of (very) amateur cyclists dust off their 2-wheelers, oil their chains, and prepare for the annual ‘Spine Ride’, a fundraiser for World Spine Care Europe.

This year, we ride 650km through France, along the Cote d’Azure, and into Provence. Lavender fields and vineyards lead us to ancient villages, hopefully housing the odd patisserie and ice cream parlour. (It’s essential to replenish lost energy!)

The ride will start on June 22, 2022, and continue for six days. You can view our anticipated routes on Strava.

Day 1 - Nice to Saint Maxime

Day 2 - Saint Maxime to Aix

Day 3 - Aix to Carpentras

Day 4a - Carpentras to Avignon

Day 4b - Carpentras to Ventoux to Avignon

Day 5 - Avignon to Arles

Day 6 - Arles to Marseille

Join Us

As part of the ride, we would like to invite you to join us on Saturday 25th June. Break out the lycra, oil the chain, pump up the tyres, and most importantly, make sure those brakes are working.

We will start the day in Carpentras, Provence, France, where a number of our group will embark on one of the stiffest challenges that we have attempted, to cycle the famous Mont Ventoux. This is notorious in Tour de France history for being one of its most challenging climbs. People have lost their lives on the ascent, others lost control on the descent. It is long and arduous.

Of course, you can join us if you would really like to, but we recognise that your diaries may already have other fillers on their pages. We invite you to to join us from where you live. We don’t expect you to ride the 110km with us but would challenge you to ride 50kms. It can be flat, hilly, on an electric bike or even on an exercise bike. If you do get out and about please take some pictures that we can post on the website. If you can get friends or family to join you even better, let’s try and make it as interactive as we can.

Support Our Work

This has become our largest fundraising event so let’s try and make the most of it, on every way, fun, fitness and raising money. Donate to World Spine Care Europe to support our projects including the MGM Collaboration in Navi Mumbai, India.

Thanks for you help and support with the venture.  We will look forward to seeing your photos and hearing about your experiences!
