Dr. Outerbridge, clinical director for World Spine Care has just returned from a successful trip to Ranthambhore India. During the three week Dr. Outerbridge was able to create the framework and arrange the infrastructure for the WSC clinic at the Sevika Hospital in Sawai Madhopur. He was able to treat 50 patients during the visit to get a sense of the types of musculoskeletal conditions that are common in this area and test the WSC model and protocols. He was also able to spend a day treating patients in the village of Padali, a short drive from Sawai Madhopur.
The Sevika Hospital in Sawai Madhopur has an outpatient department with approximately 150 patient visits per day. Of these, approximately 40% are presenting with musculoskeletal complaints, the vast majority being Low and mid back pain, headaches, and lower limb pain. At the present time these complaints are being managed with pain medication only.
